The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, CEP is the enthusiast-runner favorite, and the men's 20-30 mmHg tall sock captures that consensus. In r/running (high-trust community), one user who tried Zensah, 2XU and CEP names CEP the favorite, and another says CEP socks are 'great for performance and recovery, you can wear them during a run and keep them on for hours afterwards', a point of distinction since many compression socks are recommended only for post-activity wear. Not everyone agrees compression helps mid-run: r/Marathon_Training commenters note some socks are better used afterward for circulation and swelling, and r/trailrunning users prefer toe socks with calf sleeves to avoid bunching.
What reviewers liked
- Ranked above 2XU and Zensah by r/running enthusiasts
- One of few socks reviewers endorse for both during-run and post-run recovery
- weeviews testers praised stay-put fit and durability
- True 20-30 mmHg medical-grade graduated compression
Where it falls short
- At $48 per pair, among the most expensive options here
- weeviews and reviewers note heat retention in warm conditions
- Some runners on r/Marathon_Training say compression socks are best worn only after activity
- No high-trust independent lab test specific to this SKU in the signals

Not everyone agrees compression helps mid-run: r/Marathon_Training commenters note some socks are better used afterward for circulation and swelling, and r/trailrunning users prefer toe socks with calf sleeves to avoid bunching. But the brand-specific sentiment for CEP is unusually consistent on fit, stay-put hold and recovery benefit. weeviews testers praised the stay-put fit and durability.
The drawbacks are predictable for a premium German-made sock: weeviews and community threads flag the high price and heat retention in warm conditions. At $48 a pair this is a committed purchase, but for runners who want medical-grade 20-30 mmHg compression they can wear through a race and recovery, the trust-weighted consensus is favorable.

They are not good to use during the run. But great afterwards if you are inactive and need additional blood circulation and prevent swelling.
Compression socks are good, but tend to bunch up my toes too much. My favorite combo is Injinji toe socks with compression calf sleeves.
