What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, Jorgensen's 2-pack of 6-inch steel F-clamps is the easy budget recommendation. r/BeginnerWoodWorking members call them 'a great general use F clamp' and note the newer blue versions are better made than the older black ones, adding that 'probably 90% of my clamping is done with these.' Walmart and the manufacturer page corroborate strong, slip-free holding for the price. The key spec reviewers want buyers to understand is the light-duty 300 lb load limit; r/woodworking explicitly breaks down that Jorgensen's light-duty clamps cap at 300 lbs versus 600 lbs for medium duty.
What reviewers liked
- Lowest price in the pool with a 4.7-star average over 1,200+ ratings
- r/BeginnerWoodWorking calls the newer versions a great general-use F-clamp
- Slip-free holding confirmed by retailer reviewers
- Cheap enough to buy in quantity for a starter kit
Where it falls short
- Light-duty 300 lb limit flagged by r/woodworking as a real constraint
- Only 6-inch capacity limits larger work
- Light-duty build not suited to high-pressure glue-ups
- Basic F-clamp design can mar workpieces without pads or cauls

The key spec reviewers want buyers to understand is the light-duty 300 lb load limit; r/woodworking explicitly breaks down that Jorgensen's light-duty clamps cap at 300 lbs versus 600 lbs for medium duty. For panel pressure that matters, but for general holding, jigs, and light glue-ups these are widely seen as more than enough.
At around the price of a couple of coffees per clamp, the trust-weighted consensus is that these are the clamps to buy in quantity. No single reviewer treats them as premium, but the agreement on value is broad and consistent.

They're pretty clunky for the typical joint clamp they're awesome cabinet and panel glue ups. 6 pack jorgensen bar clamps for $30 at lowes!
I own a few different brands, Jorgensen(newer version), Masterforce and Tool Shop (Menards). I like the Jorgensen but pricey for a Chinese brand.
