What reviewers liked
- pcmag.com calls the AX1800 platform easy to install and a solid performer
- High-trust bhphotovideo.com listing reports strong real-world streaming performance
- Gigabit Ethernet port and EasyMesh compatibility
- Large Amazon review base (~10,000) at 4.3 stars provides volume corroboration
Where it falls short
- pcmag.com notes this tier does not support 160 MHz channels — a real cap on peak speed
- r/HomeNetworking commenters recommend the RE715X over the RE615X for higher 5 GHz throughput
- Like all wireless-backhaul extenders, throughput can drop noticeably from the router's native speed
- Single Ethernet port limits wired-device flexibility

Community signals are mostly positive but mixed. r/HomeNetworking threads include a user reporting 2.5 years of flawless operation on a near-identical RE605X, while other threads recommend stepping up to the RE715X if you want higher 5 GHz speeds. The honest read: the RE615X is the sensible default if you want Wi-Fi 6, EasyMesh, and a Gigabit port without paying for the flagship, but heavy streamers in larger homes will likely be happier with the RE715X.

The TP-Link RE600X is a Wi-Fi range extender that does a good job of extending 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless signals in your home, but it doesn’t support all Wi-Fi 6 features.
For the average user, the AX1800 is a solid choice. It's the Toyota Camry of routers – reliable, efficient, and won't break the bank.
I've been using the TP-Link RE605X AX1800Mbps WiFi 6 Mesh Repeater for about 2.5yrs now and it's worked flawless. The issue started maybe a few weeks ago.
